How to Increase Your Android Device’s Battery Life:Tips

,

8 steps to increase Android device battery life:
1. Power Control : Android’s build in power control widget is the first step to more batter life. It’s included with all version of Android, and it enables you to turn settings on or off. To get it, long-press on the home screen, then choose ‘Widgets’ followed by ‘Power Control’. You need a long, clear space on your home screen to install it.
2. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth : To the left of the Power Control strip you’ll see the Wi-Fi icon – turn this off when you’re away from a Wi-Fi hotspot and you’ll save a huge amount of power. We also need to think about Bluetooth, which wirelessly connects to computers, car steros and speakers. Turn it off if you’re not using it.
3. GPS and brightness : GPS is handy when you want to use Google Maps and location services. but it uses a lot of power and should turned off when not in use. Reducing your screen’s brightness stops your display draining the batter, and some phones can set the brightness automatically to suit the ambient lightning.
4. Sync : Sync means that the phone constantly contacts Google’s servers to download new emails, contact, calendar entries and other background information. It uses a lot of power  and you can safely tuen it off for a while – anything that isn’t downloaded will appears on your device when it’s turned back on.
5. JuiceDefender : JuiceDefender is a handy app that switches off certain settings when they’re not in use. Download it and install it, then run it and choose ‘Enabled under Status’. Deactivate the app if you’re downloading a lot of data, because it might stop connectivity when your phone switches to standby.
6. 2G networks : 2G networks are noticeable slower than 3G, but 3G uses more power. You can switch to a 2G network by choosing ‘Settings’ then ‘Wireless and networks’ followed by ‘Mobile network’. Check the box marked ‘Use only 2G network’ to activate it. You’ll still be able to make calls and send texts.
7. Got the power : Next time your device is running low on power, or there’s nowhere available to plug in your charger, you’ll know exactly what you can turn on and off to make the battery last a little longer. The above tips are also handy for other situation, such as when you go away on holiday and want to avoid using too much data.
8. Battery use : To find out exactly what’s eating your batter, choose ‘Settings’, then ‘About phone’ and ‘Battery use’. Here you’ll see a list of the applications and tools that are using the most power. Some of these functions can be selected to forced to stop. Which will save you a little more precious power in the future.

Typing Tips and Tricks for iPhone and iPad

,

Here,i would like to share some typing tips for iPhone and iPad
1. Access Special Characters
Tapping and holding on many normal letters will reveal their special character versions instead.

2. Create Typing Shortcuts for Frequently Used Phrases

iOS lets you set shortcuts to automatically expand to larger blocks of text or words. If you frequently type things like “on my way” or “I’m sorry I forgot your birthday can I come home now”, you can set a shortcut like ‘omw’ or ‘srybday’ and it’ll expand to the full phrase. Here is how to create and set shortcuts:
  • Open Settings and tap “General” followed by “Keyboard”
  • Tap “Add New Shortcut” and enter the full phrase and then the shortcut, followed by “Save”

3. Type Clumsy and Rely on Software

Unlike a traditional keyboard, the iOS virtual keyboards are very forgiving. Between auto-correct and the hidden keys, you can get away with being quite clumsy with your typing and the words will usually still end up accurate and spelled correctly thanks to the intelligent software. Those who are the quickest at typing on virtual keyboards use this in their favor, and it works.

4. Tap, Hold, and Drag

This is a sequence that makes typing in iOS so much easier that it should be required learning for all iPhone and iPad users. It goes like this; instead of tapping in a sequence, tap once and hold, drag to the character, then release. Here’s an example for when you want to type a special character or a number:
  • Tap and hold on the “.?123″ button, continue to hold on the new screen and drag over to the character you wish to type, release when you are hovered over that character to type it

5. Quick Apostrophes with Tap and Hold

Similar to the previous tip, you can access two hidden apostrophes on iPad keyboards by tapping and holding on the ! and ? keys, the ,! key reveals a single apostrophe ‘ and the .? key reveals the double apostrophe ”

6. Double-Tap Spacebar to Insert a Period

Instead of manually tapping the period key, just hit spacebar twice at the end of a sentence. Everyone knows this already, right? If not, get used to it, it makes a big difference typing on the virtual keys.

7. Caps Lock

Double-tap the shift key to enable CAPS LOCK. Prior to iOS 5, this needed to beenabled separately.

8. Split the iPad Keyboard

Arguably the single best tip for typing on the iPad keyboard while holding the device with two hands, just tap and hold on the keyboard icon in the lower right and drag up to split the keys. Do the same but drag down to join the keyboard again. We have covered this before and will remind everyone again, it’s that good.

How to enable secret codes in Samsung Galaxy S3:

The users can sets to discover various codes that can be used to activate and manipulate many settings, such as debug modes, network modes factory modes, shortcuts and everything that can be found on a phone. This tweak was also available on all previous Galaxy models, including S2

The discovered explains that the Samsung Galaxy S III uses a template for most of codes, by only accepting queries that start with ‘*#*#’ and end with ‘#*#’. Between these two marks, any kind of string can be inserted, but only some of them will actually be recognized by the phone and react. So, besides his own discoveries that are listed in full on the official page and summarized here, anyone owning the GT-I9300 and the SCH-I939 can try his luck.

Those wishing not to rely only on luck can take a more interesting approach, by installing a handful of tools and running custom, deodexed firmware images. It sounds tricky, but the user managed to put together a step by step procedure which explains the method.
