Send 10 GB files from Gmail with Using Google Drive

,
Good news for all Gmail users..Now you can send 10 GB of file as a Attachments. Few days ago only Google Added this feature.

Google has announced that it will be integrating Google Drive in to Gmail, so that users can send large files up to 10GB. A new button appears in the Gmail compose window to attach files from the Google Drive account, instead attaching the files directly to the message.Normally google drive users are using Dropbox, YousendIt to share huge files.
This is a really amazing feature for those who use Google Drive, but what happens if you share a file with someone who doesn’t have access to it? Google takes care of that too. Just like Gmail warns you about forgetting attachments if it recognizes that you meant to include one, if will also warn you about sending Google Drive files to users who can’t access them, and will prompt you to change the file’s sharing settings accordingly. This is also done without ever leaving Gmail.

Google Preparing New Maps App for iOS Devices

,
Apple replaced Google's maps app with Apple Maps in iOS 6.Apple's new Maps app has been perhaps the most discussed and most griped about new feature on iOS 6 so far. In addition to the app omitting transit directions, users discovered that mapping imagery included a confusing cluster of broken roads, misplaced clouds and national monuments all out of whack. We already posted Alternatives Maps Apps for Apple Maps in iOS 6.

According to the Wall Street Journal Google is distributing a version of the application to users outside the company before it submits the app for review and acceptance to Apple’s online App Store, which quoted unnamed sources “with direct knowledge of the matter.” A Google mapping app would compete directly with Apple’s own in-house map app, which was released to widespread scorn and derision when it debuted in the fall.

"We believe Google Maps are the most comprehensive, accurate and easy-to-use maps in the world,” said one of Google spokesperson quoted in the report. “Our goal is to make Google Maps available to everyone who wants to use it, regardless of device, browser or operating system."

Google has been putting the finishing touches on the app before submitting it for approval to the Apple iTunes store, but it is not clear when that will happen.

Google is officially announced their LG Nexus 4:Specifications and Price

,
Already we have seen Leaked specs of LG Nexus 4.Google is officially announced their LG Nexus 4,after cancellation of the October 29 Android Event by going ahead and launching their next flagship Nexus smartphone, the LG Nexus 4.
LG Nexus 4 Specifications:
New LG Nexus 4 having 4.7-inch 1280 x 768 IPS display, a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and 8 Megapixel camera and a 1.3 Megapixel front-facing camera,also having 2GB of RAM and 8GB & 16GB storage options.

Google claims fastest processor called Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 processor(1.5 GHz)  which gives awesome feature like360-degree Panaromic pictures, which Google calls as “Photo Sphere images“, the quad-core Krait CPU has got some stunning scores in some bench marking tests and is surely a spec to look forward to. Moreover, the LG Nexus 4 will be the first Android phone to come with the latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS. Google is yet to disclose what exactly is new in the 4.2, but it is expected to be faster than 4.1 for sure.
Other important specs is  2100 mAh Li-Polymer Battery, which gives 15.3 hours of talk-time and 390 hours of standby. Weight at 139g, Nexus 4 isn’t the lightest ones around, but it features a stunning glass back-panel and sturdy build, unlike most of the top-end Android smartphones these days. And yeah, it comes with Wireless charging & NFC too.

Pricing and Availability:
The Nexus 4 will come in 8GB and 16GB versions for $299 and $349, respectively. It’ll be available starting Tuesday, November 13th in the U.S., UK, Canada, Germany, France, Spain and Australia. Offline availability in Europe, Central/South Americas, Asia, CIS and the Middle East will begin from the end of November.

Though the starting price of $299 looks attractive, unavailability of microSD slot and pretty ridiculous internal memory of 8GB is a downer for many. In Nexus 7, we had seen that the 8GB variant has just 5.3 GB of usable space.

Google in industry's 'defining fight' with Apple:Google Chairman Schmidt

,
Google Inc Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt expects more than a billion mobile devices around the world to be running its Android software within a year, intensifying a battle with Apple Inc that he called a "defining fight" of the industry.

Schmidt said there were already four times as many Android mobile gadgets - smartphones and tablets made by the likes of Samsung Electronics - and that the scale of the battle between the two firms was unprecedented.
"We've not seen ... competitive fights on this scale," he said during an interview with tech blog AllThingsDigital at New York's 92nd Street Y on Wednesday.

Google and Apple were once close partners, with Schmidt serving on Apple's board during part of his tenure as Google CEO. But the ties between the two have been strained by the rise of Google's Android mobile operating system, now the world's leading platform for smartphones and a direct threat to Apple's lucrative iPhone and iPad businesses.

As competition between the two companies has heated up, Apple has moved to cut its reliance on Google products by dumping YouTube from the new iPhone's pre-loaded selection of apps and replacing Google's mapping software on the iPhone with its own mapping service.

Apple's foray into mapping has not gone smoothly. Apple CEO Tim Cook was forced to issue a public apology earlier this month amid complaints that the product - based on Dutch navigation equipment maker and digital map maker TomTom Navigation's data - contained glaring geographic errors and gaps in information.
"What Apple has learned is that maps are really hard," Schmidt said. "We invested hundreds of millions of dollars in satellite work, airplane work, drive by work, to get the maps accurate."

Schmidt also said he did not expect Google to become a significant player in China any time soon, following its 2010 standoff with the government over Web censorship and cyber-attacks that Google said originated in China.
Google relocated its search engine to Hong Kong in the wake of the episode, allowing Chinese search engine Baidu Inc to widen its lead in China, one of the few markets in the world where Google's search engine is not dominant.
"Baidu will continue to be the Number One player in China for a long time," Schmidt said. He said that he did not expect any mending of ties with the Chinese government, which he said has cut off access to Google's Web services in the past.

Google bring out its Fiber broadband ( 100 times faster) Internetservice in USA

,
.
Google bring out its Fiber broadband Internet service in Kansas City, Missouri,USA on Thursday, Google promising access speed more than 100 times faster than some of the fastest available from U.S. cable and telecommunications networks.

The Google Fiber TV service will be priced at $120 a month for a package of major broadcast networks, 1 gigabyte per second Internet speeds and 1 terabyte of cloud storage. For $70 a month the service will not include the traditional TV channels.
The new advanced service will offer features such as the ability to record eight TV shows at a time and store up to 500 hours of high definition programming. The user can use a tablet or smart phone as a voice-activated remote control if the user wants. Google is offering its Nexus 7 tablet with the Google TV app to early users of the service.

Google Fiber TV will allow users to search live channels, Netflix, YouTube, recorded shows and tens of thousands of hours of on-demand programming.

"The Internet is a huge positive force, and yet we are at a crossroad," said Google Chief Financial Officer Patrick Pichette, who has played a lead role in overseeing the Fiber project. He said Internet speeds had leveled out for broadband since around 2000, and Google would making it 100 times faster.

The download speeds would be around 1 gigabyte a second, according to Google executives who were presenting a demonstration.

Google invested in building out fiber in Kansas City, Missouri in 2011 after inviting cities back in 2010 to help identify communities that would be interested taking part in the project.

->Google Fiber plans plus a free Nexus 7!!

Google officials said that the construction fee for a single home is $300, so that’s how much Google has to spend to deliver the fiber optic network at your house. And before that you should know that they will give you a free Nexus 7 tablet along with your Gigabit + TV plan
