Windows Phone 8 comes with a useful and a rich feature that allows you to send text replies to the caller directly from the call answer screen. In case if you are busy or unable to answer the call, just use this feature to send a text reply so they won’t think you are ignoring them.

It comes with two quick replies already, they include – “I’ll call you back” and “Please text me”. In addition to this you can even add custom replies to do this go to Settings > Applications > Phone and tap Edit replies. You can add up to four custom replies.

2. Assign names to mailbox

If you use a lot of email accounts and have configured them on your phone, it will be difficult to identify any particular one. To help with this Windows Phone 8 allows you to assign custom names to your mailbox instead of traditional ‘Hotmail’ or ‘Gmail’.

To assign it go to Settings > System > Email+Accounts. Select the account you want to rename, then assign a name to it.

3. Increase text font size

If you are visually impaired and are unable to read the small text from threaded message or email accounts, don’t worry, there is a way for that. Windows Phone 8 offers a new accessibility feature that can increase the font size which will help the visually impaired users to read the text easily.

To increase the text size, go to Settings > System > Ease of Access. Use the text size slider to increase the font in emails or text messages. Alongside there is also a screen magnifier. When it is switched on, you can tap the screen with two fingers to zoom in.

Windows Phone 8 gives you ability to customize the lock screen. This customization allows you to change the order and line up of quick status notification icons on the lock screen.  Even the third-party app icons like Skype or Google News app, etc are supported. To do this, go to Settings > System > Lock Screen, then select a slot under Choose apps to show quick status. Assign the order as you want.

Many of the new commands and features in Windows 8 are hidden or difficult to find, so it’s easy to get lost trying to figure out where and how to perform specific tasks. Here we posting basic Tips of windows 8 and see also Things to know before you download Windows 8

1.Lock  Screen
Windows 8 opens on its lock screen, which looks pretty but unfortunately display no clues about what to do next. It's all very straightforward ,though.just tap the space bar, spin the mouse wheel or swipe upwards on a touch screen to reveal a regular login screen with the user name you created during installation.enter your password to begin.

2.Basic Navigation
windows 8 launches with its new interface, all colorful tiles and touch-friendly apps. And if you're using a tablet then it'll all be very straightforward:just swipe left or right to scroll the screen ,and tap any tile of interest.

On a regular desktop ,though, you might alternatively spin the mouse wheel to scroll backwards and forwards. and you also use the keyboard.press the home or End keys to jump from one end of your start screen to the other, for instance, then use the cursor keys to select a particular tile, tapping Enter to select it.Press the Windows key to return to the start screen;right click (or swipe down on )apps you don't need and select unpin to remove them;and drag and drop the other tiles around to organise them as you like.

3.App Groups
The start screen apps are initially displayed in a fairly random order, but if you'd prefer a more organised life then it's easy to sort them into custom groups.

you might drag people, mail, messaging and calender over to the left-hand side ,for instance ,to form a separate 'people'group.click the 'minus'icon in the bottom right corner of the screen to zoom out and you'll now find you can drag and drop the new group (or any of the others) around as a block.

Right -click within the block (while still zoomed out)and you'll also be able to give the group a name, which if you go on to add another 20 or 30 apps to your start screen-will make it much essier to find the tools you need.

4.Quick Access Menu
Right -click in the bottom left corner (or hold down the windows key and press x)for a text -based menu that provides easy access to lots of useful applets and features:device manager ,control panel, explorer, the search dialog and more.

5.Find Your Applications
The Win+X menu is useful, but no substitute for the old start menu as it doesn't provide access to your applications. To find this ,hold down the windows key and press Q or either right-click an empty part of the start screen or swipe your finger up from the bottom of the screen and select'all apps' to reveal a scrolling list of all your installed applications.Browse the various tiles to find what you need and click the the relevant app to launch it.

6.Easy Access
If there's an applications you use all the time then you don't have to access it via the search system.pin it to the start screen and it'll be available at a click.Start by typing part of the name of your application. To access control panel, for instance, type 'Control".Right -Click the 'Control Panel' tile on the Apps search screen, and click 'pin to start,.If you're using a touchscreen ,press and hold the icon ,then flick down and select 'Pin to Start".

Now press the windows key ,scroll to the right and you'll see the control panel tile at the far end.drag and drop this over to the left somewhere if you'd like it more easily accessible, then click the tile to open the desktop along with the control panel window, and press the  Windows key to return you to the Start screen when you're done.

7.Shutting Down
To start windows 8 down, just move the mouse cursor to the bottom right corner of the screen, click the setting  icon -or just hold down the windows key and press I -and you'll see a power button .Click this and choose 'shut Down ' or 'Restart'.
Some of the tricks available in previous versions of windows still apply.Press Ctrl+Alt+Del ,for instance, click the power button in the bottom right-hand corner and you'll be presented with the same 'Shut Down 'and 'Restart ' options. And if you're on the desktop ,press Alt+F4 and you'll be able to choose 'Shut Down' , 'Restart','Sign Out' or 'Switch User" options.

How to Increase Your Android Device’s Battery Life:Tips

,

8 steps to increase Android device battery life:
1. Power Control : Android’s build in power control widget is the first step to more batter life. It’s included with all version of Android, and it enables you to turn settings on or off. To get it, long-press on the home screen, then choose ‘Widgets’ followed by ‘Power Control’. You need a long, clear space on your home screen to install it.
2. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth : To the left of the Power Control strip you’ll see the Wi-Fi icon – turn this off when you’re away from a Wi-Fi hotspot and you’ll save a huge amount of power. We also need to think about Bluetooth, which wirelessly connects to computers, car steros and speakers. Turn it off if you’re not using it.
3. GPS and brightness : GPS is handy when you want to use Google Maps and location services. but it uses a lot of power and should turned off when not in use. Reducing your screen’s brightness stops your display draining the batter, and some phones can set the brightness automatically to suit the ambient lightning.
4. Sync : Sync means that the phone constantly contacts Google’s servers to download new emails, contact, calendar entries and other background information. It uses a lot of power  and you can safely tuen it off for a while – anything that isn’t downloaded will appears on your device when it’s turned back on.
5. JuiceDefender : JuiceDefender is a handy app that switches off certain settings when they’re not in use. Download it and install it, then run it and choose ‘Enabled under Status’. Deactivate the app if you’re downloading a lot of data, because it might stop connectivity when your phone switches to standby.
6. 2G networks : 2G networks are noticeable slower than 3G, but 3G uses more power. You can switch to a 2G network by choosing ‘Settings’ then ‘Wireless and networks’ followed by ‘Mobile network’. Check the box marked ‘Use only 2G network’ to activate it. You’ll still be able to make calls and send texts.
7. Got the power : Next time your device is running low on power, or there’s nowhere available to plug in your charger, you’ll know exactly what you can turn on and off to make the battery last a little longer. The above tips are also handy for other situation, such as when you go away on holiday and want to avoid using too much data.
8. Battery use : To find out exactly what’s eating your batter, choose ‘Settings’, then ‘About phone’ and ‘Battery use’. Here you’ll see a list of the applications and tools that are using the most power. Some of these functions can be selected to forced to stop. Which will save you a little more precious power in the future.
